- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, cocoa powder, eggs, sugar, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract. Stir until well mixed.
- Add flour and salt to the mixture and stir until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool.
- For the frosting, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until smooth.
- Spread the peppermint frosting over the cooled brownies.
- For the ganache, melt the semisweet chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl. Stir until smooth.
- Pour the ganache over the frosted brownies and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top for decoration.
Notes
Store brownies in an airtight container. They can be made ahead of time and are great for holiday gatherings.
