Ingredients
  

For the Biscuit
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Strawberries
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
For the Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream cold
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk, egg, and vanilla until just combined.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. In another bowl, mix strawberries with granulated sugar and let sit for 10 minutes.
  5. For the whipped cream, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  6. To serve, split the biscuits, layer with strawberries and whipped cream, and enjoy!

Notes

You can add a splash of lemon juice to the strawberries for extra flavor.
