Ingredients
  

For the Mac and Cheese Filling
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For Breading
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for breading
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a pot, melt the butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened.
  3. Add cheddar and mozzarella to the sauce, stirring until melted. Mix in the macaroni and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Let the mixture cool, then form into bite-sized balls.
  5. Dredge each ball in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry the bites until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Notes

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
