For the Crust
  • 4 pieces naan bread
  • 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 8 oz brie cheese, sliced
For the Topping
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon maple syrup
Seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Oven

Method

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes. Stir in balsamic vinegar and brown sugar, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place naan on a baking sheet. Top with caramelized onions, sliced brie, and chopped walnuts. Drizzle with maple syrup. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and naan is crispy.
  3. Remove from oven and season with salt and black pepper. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves before serving.

Notes

You can substitute walnuts with pecans for a different flavor. Adjust the sweetness of the dish by varying the amount of maple syrup.
