Ingredients
  

For the Potatoes
  • lbs russet or Yukon gold potatoes, peeled
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or smashed
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)
Optional Add-Ons
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg for a warm, subtle aroma
  • ½ cup shredded Gruyère or Fontina for extra richness

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a baking dish, layer the peeled potatoes, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, butter, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. If using, sprinkle nutmeg and add shredded Gruyère or Fontina on top.
  4. Bake for 60 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
