- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a baking dish, layer the peeled potatoes, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, butter, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- If using, sprinkle nutmeg and add shredded Gruyère or Fontina on top.
- Bake for 60 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
