Ingredients
  

For the Cabbage
  • 1 medium green cabbage, cut into 8 wedges
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil for searing
  • 3 tablespoon butter, unsalted
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth, low-sodium
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoon chili oil, optional
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoon cornstarch, optional to thicken sauce
  • 1–2 tablespoon cold water, if using cornstarch
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add cabbage wedges and sear until golden brown on both sides.
  2. Add butter, onion, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in heavy cream, parmesan cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. If using, mix cornstarch with cold water and add to the sauce to thicken. Stir well.
  5. Cook for a few more minutes until the sauce is creamy. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

You can adjust the seasoning to your taste. Use more or less chili oil depending on your spice preference.
