- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

- Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Add the cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until the cheese melts.
- Mix the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce and transfer to a baking dish. Top with bread crumbs if desired.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes or until golden on top.
