Ingredients
  

For the Meat Sauce
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 15 oz Tomato sauce
  • 6 oz Tomato paste
  • 28 oz Crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika (optional)
For the Layers
  • 12 oz Lasagna noodles
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese
  • 16 oz Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 large Egg (for ricotta mixture)
  • ¼ cup Fresh parsley (optional)
For Topping
  • 8 oz Mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and parsley. Mix well.
  4. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce. Place a layer of noodles on top, then spread some ricotta mixture, followed by mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the meat sauce for extra flavor.
