  • 4 Large Butter Croissants High-quality, store-bought or bakery-fresh.
The Cookie Dough Filling & Topping
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter Softened to room temperature.
  • ½ cup Light Brown Sugar Packed.
  • ¼ cup Granulated White Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg Room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Or high-quality chocolate chunks.
The Finish
  • Powdered Sugar For dusting (optional).
  • Sea Salt Flakes A pinch for the top of the cookies.

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Slice each croissant in half and fill with the cookie dough mixture. Place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar and sprinkle with sea salt flakes before serving.
