Ingredients
  

For the Fries
  • 1 large bag frozen French fries or 4 large potatoes cut into fries
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil if using fresh potatoes
For the Beef Chili
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • to taste salt and black pepper
For the Topping
  • 1 ½–2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional: sliced jalapeños or green onions

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven according to the frozen fries package instructions.
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, tomato sauce, chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Prepare the fries as per package instructions or bake fresh potatoes until golden.
  6. Spread fries on a baking sheet, top with the chili mixture, and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  8. Serve hot with optional jalapeños or green onions.

Notes

You can adjust the spice level by adding more or less chili powder. Enjoy your meal!
