Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Vegetables
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper, coarsely ground
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
For Serving
  • cooked rice for serving

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned.
  3. Add the onion, bell peppers, and garlic; stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, and beef broth.
  5. Thicken the sauce with the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1 more minute.
  6. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

You can adjust the amount of black pepper to taste. Serve with your favorite rice.
